Kerstin Andreae

Chairwoman of the Executive Board and member of the BDEW Executive Committee

Ms. Andreae has been Chairwoman of the BDEW Executive Board since 1 November 2019.

Kerstin Andreae was born on October 21, 1968 in Schramberg, Black Forest. After graduating from high school, Ms. Andreae studied economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.

After graduating at the end of 1996, she worked in project management at the Agency for Health and Spa Technology, MediKur in Hamm, at the Social Science Women’s Research Institute of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Freiburg and at the financial services provider in the wind energy sector “Das grüne Emissionshaus” in Freiburg.

From 1999 to 2002, Ms. Andreae was a member of the Freiburg City Council. In 2002, Ms. Andreae was elected to the German Bundestag by the voters of the Freiburg constituency.

From 2002 to 2007, she was a member of the Finance Committee and local government spokesperson for the Bündnis 90/Die GRÜNEN parliamentary group. From 2007 to 2012, she was economic policy spokesperson.

In 2012, Ms. Andreae was elected deputy chairwoman of the parliamentary group. Until 2017, it was responsible for coordinating economic, budgetary, financial, labor and social policy.

From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Andreae was economic policy spokesperson for the Bündnis 90/DIE GRÜNEN parliamentary group and initiated and coordinated the group’s economic advisory board during this time.

Ms. Andreae is married and has three children. Her place of residence is Berlin.
