
Born on April 17, 1984 in Damascus (Syria).
2007 Bachelor (B.Sc.) Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aleppo.
2013 Double Master (M.Sc.) in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for the Middle East and North Africa at the University of Cairo in Egypt and the University of Kassel with the support of a scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
2018 Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in the field of urban energy systems at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg with a scholarship from the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
Since 2012 energy researcher in the field of energy system analysis with a focus on the integration of flexibility options such as storage and green hydrogen in the urban energy system at the German Aerospace Center.
Since 2021, I have been active as a local politician on Oldenburg City Council and chair the Environment Committee. In 2022, I was elected to the board of the Europa-Union Oldenburg, and from 2023 to 2025 I held the office of state chairman of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in Lower Saxony.
I am also on the Supervisory Board of Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Oldenburg GmbH (TGO), where I support the promotion of start-ups and technological innovations. My goal is to shape sustainable progress through interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific expertise.
