Holger Matthiesen has been Managing Director of LX ECO GmbH (part of Luxcara) since April 2024. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President Business Development Europe for Aker Horizons / Senior Vice President / Managing Director Offshore Wind Development Europe & Global New Markets for Mainstream Renewables Power. He is also Senior Vice President Business Development Europe at Aker Horizons, the main shareholder of Mainstream. He has many years of experience in the offshore wind industry worldwide, most recently as Head of Offshore Wind Development for Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic States at RWE Renewables. Previously, he worked in the Climate and Renewable Energy division of the E.ON Group, including senior positions in the areas of underground gas and energy storage as well as in the development and construction of offshore wind farms in Germany and Scandinavia. Before working in the field of renewable energies, he also gained 10 years of experience in the field of oil and gas production with assignments in Libya, Russia and the Netherlands. Mr. Matthiesen holds a Diploma in Geology from the Technical University of Aachen, Germany, an Engineering Diploma from the IFP School in Paris, France, and an Executive MBA from the University of Bremen, Germany.
