Tinne Van der Straeten has been CEO of WindEurope since February 2, 2026. Van der Straeten was Belgium’s Energy Minister from 2020 to 2025 and has extensive experience and a strong track record in energy policy at national and EU level.
Before becoming a minister, she was a member of the Belgian Federal Parliament (2007-2010, 2019-2020).
In 2010, she co-founded the Brussels law firm Blixt. A law firm specializing in energy law, where she has 9 years of experience in the energy sector.
She was a board member of many organizations, such as the King Baudouin Foundation and CAW Brussels.
Tinne Van der Straeten studied at the UGent and the VUB and has a degree in law.
