Jörg Singer studied industrial engineering in Germany and the USA and then worked for various tech companies in the USA and Germany. During his career, he learned to steer companies from start-up through growth and through change. Later, as mayor of Heligoland, he strengthened the island by attracting a new service industry around offshore wind.
In 2020, he founded AquaVentus, which is an association promoting the implementation of a “green 10 gigawatt offshore hydrogen power plant” in the North Sea. Professionally, he now works as a management consultant in the green economy. Jörg lives with his family near by the Heligoland lighthouse. His favourite recreation spot is the North Beach on the Heligoland Dune.
This year, for the first time in the Economic Forum Offshore Wind history, we will leave the North Sea island of Helgoland and come together on the island of Rügen, in Binz, from 31st August to 1st September 2023.
